Ken Colyer ( - ) was a British traditional jazz revivalist who specialized in the New Orleans jazz and ragtime stylings. He first interfaced with New Orleans players when a young man in the UK's Merchant Navy and after long jaunts at sea, began looking up familiar names in a New Orleans telephone directory found in the Westminster Public Library.

Ken Colyer fans will definetely want this collection, as well as the single cd of This Is The Blues. The band, under Ken's leadership, had by this time, firmly established its personality. There was nobody playing this type of New Orleans jazz in Europe any better than Ken. Some would argue that-to this day-nobody has played it better. Period.5/5(2).
